About Us
Multitask's vision of "People with disabilities living, working and sharing equally in the community" has underpinned the provision of a unique, wide ranging group of services, aiming to increase the independence of people with disabilities and supporting them to make informed choices about the way they wish to live their lives.
Led by a dedicated Board and Management Team, Multitask has become recognised as a leader in the provision of support services to people with disabilities, not only in the Northern Rivers Region, but across New South Wales and Australia. In 2002 Multitask was recognised as a "Benchmark" service by the Department of Aging and Disability, was presented the Lismore Business Award "Glynn" for Outstanding Community Organisation and Won the Australian Business Limited "President's Prize for Education and Training of staff.
Multitask provides employment to 195 people, including 75 with disabilities making it a major non-government employer in Lismore and the largest service of its type in northern NSW. With a culture based on teamwork, excellent staff development and training and opportunities for career advancement, Multitask is sought out by those wishing to work in the human services sector.
All Multitask services have been designed to offer quality of life activities and opportunities to participate in the local community.
Multitask operates from several locations in Lismore. Its headquarters in Molesworth Street houses general administration as well as Challenge Plus, a retirement day program. The business services operate from Caldwell Avenue, while the Independent Living Service (ILS) is located in Magellan Street.
Multitask services aim to develop the potential of each individual to have a happy, secure and meaningful life that is both appropriate to each person's needs and goals.
Each person's is supported to maximise their opportunity to choose the way they wish to live their lives.
Multitask's history is based in people with disabilities, their families and the community working together to ensure that people with disabilities have the same opportunities afforded to all people.
The staff and volunteers of Multitask are its most valuable asset and provide quality support services to ensure that "people with disabilities are living, working and sharing equally in their community".
